As you may or may not know Martin recently returned from a 10 day trek spreading the good word of Tour:Smart to the proud citizens of the UK. One of the many stops along the way was Un-Convention 2009 a New Music Industry Summit focused on “being independent” and “facing up to the current changing music scene and looking for creative and innovative solutions.” That’s right up the Tour:Smart alley.

Martin spoke at the “Bands as Enterprise” panel which was recapped nicely by Lee Jarvis in his blog post. He even brought together all the tweets about the panel so you won’t have to. There you can also see the video Ruth Daniel shot of an interview with him at the (un)convention.

Andrew Dubber, author of New Music Strategies, was also kind enough to put his two cents in. My favorite quote that’s come from Martin’s appearance is from Andrew. He found an eloquent comparison between the two by saying:

I’m starting to see why people have described Martin Atkins to me as New Music Strategies with swearing.

Andrew also shot some video, recording for posterity Martin’s Top Five New Music Strategies. Be warned, they are in no particular order and are subject to change on a daily basis with the changing industry landscape.
